About me

Linear Background

I'm Hiep, a 3D enthusiast with five years of experience in creating digital content, currently living and working in Hanoi, Vietnam. I studied at Arena Multimedia, where I acquired a multitude of multimedia skills, ranging from hand drawing and graphic design to UI/UX design, photography, video editing, and filmmaking. However, after being introduced to 3D, I was completely captivated and realized that I had found my true passion. Outside of school, I dedicated my time to learning new knowledge, spending thousands of hours honing and expanding my skills. I was trained in industry-standard 3D tools such as 3dsMax, Zbrush, Maya, Substance Painter, Marmoset, and mastered the workflow to produce a complete animated film. During that time, Blender emerged as a powerful open-source tool capable of performing many tasks. I started experimenting with it and was completely won over by its simplicity. It was easy to accomplish everything with Blender, so I have been using it ever since. In addition, I also learned Houdini for tasks related to FX and simulation; it is a powerful tool for those tasks. For 5 years I spent a lot of time working on personal projects and I also worked in an animation studio for 2 years as a 3D Generalist and also had the opportunity to work with some clients as a 3D freelancer. My skills are diverse in many areas such as character modeling, props modeling, environment building, lookdev, lighting, rendering, compositing, motion graphics… however, I am highly specialized in modeling and have extensive experience in creating realistic models. During the process of studying and working, I developed problem-solving skills that enabled me to work in various environments - whether solo or as part of a small team or large production pipeline. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had so far and look forward to what the future holds for me in the World of Digital.
