John Wick

This is a personal project that I did in my free time. The character in the project is John Wick, played by actor Keanu Reeve - the actor I admire most in Hollywood. I started working on this project when the movie John Wick 4 came out and completed it in about 2 weeks. In this project I learned a lot about grooming, I also learned how to use scanned texture from texturing.xyz correctly and how to create custom shaders for some materials such as skin, fabric, leather. .. with blender cycles.

Below are a few renderings of the character

I use the Auto-Rig Pro addon to rig the character for posing

I used Substance Painter to wrap scanned textures from texturexyz onto my original mesh, paint over the BaseColor map to make it match the look with the actor's skin. For the Specular, Roughness, Displacement map I combined it with my displacement map which was baked from high-res sculpture to retain surface details on the actor's face. For the shader I created a custom shader node with separate subsurface Scattering shader node and used a texture mask to control the affected area, adding redness areas with noise texture, in additional I used micro displacement from texturing.xyz to add extra detail to the skin

I modeled the Gun with blender and used Substance Painter to create the pbr texture

For fabric I used Material based on Black knitted Cotton, combined with Checker Pattern and noise texture to the metallic map to make it look a bit shiny to match the fabric used for John Wick's suit.
